Keeps courtyards and sidewalks clean, replacing overflowing trash bins.
The world is facing a growing waste challenge. As the global leader in pneumatic waste collection systems, Envac is transforming how waste is managed. By eliminating the noise, mess, and inefficiencies of traditional collection methods, this innovative solution ensures a cleaner, more efficient process. Simply deposit sorted waste into an inlet, and it is swiftly transported through underground pneumatic tubes to a central collection station, where it is compacted and sealed in containers.
This technology is revolutionising waste handling in airports, residential communities, healthcare facilities, shopping malls, and other urban spaces. The impact? Fewer waste trucks on the streets, lower labour costs and occupational risks, significantly reduced transport emissions, and cleaner, healthier public spaces. Trusted worldwide, Envac is making cities and key facilities more efficient, sustainable, and liveable.

Envac’s smart automated waste collection system replaces traditional waste methods with a more efficient, hygienic, and eco-friendly solution. Using underground pneumatic tubes, waste is transported from collection inlets directly to a central facility, eliminating manual handling, cutting waste truck traffic, and reducing carbon emissions. This technology prevents odours and mess in public spaces while improving air quality. With built-in smart features, the system streamlines collection schedules, tracks waste levels in real-time, and boosts overall efficiency. Used in cities, airports, hospitals, and large facilities, Envac helps create cleaner, safer, and more liveable environments.
Removing waste, generating value.
Envac leverages advanced technology to optimise operational and cost efficiency. Smart sensors, software, and IoT connectivity enable real-time monitoring, reducing manual handling and improving operational performance. The Envac Automation Platform (EAP) improves efficiency by providing real-time data, predictive analytics, and automated system optimisation. It allows cities and businesses to track waste generation, streamline collection processes, and reduce power consumption by up to 70% through its peak-shaving feature.
By combining automation, AI-driven insights, and energy-efficient innovations, Envac delivers a high-tech, cost-effective, and future-proof waste management solution.
In 1961, Centralsug—now known as Envac—introduced the world’s first vacuum waste system at Sollefteå Hospital in Sweden. Remarkably, this system remains operational today, still incorporating many of its original components from the early 1960s. Since then, Envac has become a global leader in automated waste collection systems (AWCS), with 1,200 installations running across six continents.
Sustainability drives everything we do, shaping smarter, eco-friendly communities and advancing the circular economy. With urban populations rising by 2.5 billion by 2050 and waste generation doubling, cities need efficient, sustainable solutions. Envac supports this shift by promoting circular resource use, carbon neutrality, and improved urban living while adding value for all.
